Corporate Solicitor

We have been instructed by a strong mid-tier practice within Leeds who are looking to recruit to strengthen their corporate team given its continued development with clients. The role is with a firm that offers a fantastic working environment and has a great record for both developing their own lawyers as well as getting the best out of those that move from national and international firms.

The role:
This role is within a highly established team within Leeds City Centre and many of the solicitors within the team and the firm have previously worked at the 'big 6' firms in Leeds at some stage in their career, meaning that you are will be surrounded by some really good quality lawyers.
The firm has an excellent reputation with their clients acting for a wide range of businesses consisting of small to medium size enterprises through to large national public and private companies. They have a distinctive commercial team, meaning that you will be able to really focus on corporate work exclusively.
The work is a real mixed bag which will include advising on acquisitions and disposals (of both shares and assets), management buy out and buy-ins, joint ventures, shareholder and partnership agreements, refinancing and reorganisations as well as providing general corporate advice.

The Candidate:
Due to the structure of the team, the number of new instructions and the type of work on offer the firm have decided to recruit a couple of additional lawyers.
They are looking for someone who has a few years' experience behind them at around the 2-6 years pqe level, who is able to run with matters more autonomously. Ideally, you will already have gained experience in essentially leading some of your own transactions, as well as supporting more junior colleagues on them.
The firm would also be keen to hear from candidates more experience that may have a following or work to bring/contacts within the market.
Everyone in the team actively gets involved in business development and there is great support in place to help with this.
