THE COMPANY

A successful UK company which operates in over 100 countries.

THE ROLE

A Senior Commercial Counsel is now sought to join the Group Legal & Compliance team.

You will be responsible for providing legal support to the Group in relation to its commercial affairs.

Your role will be to provide commercially focussed and high quality legal advice in relation to the legal and regulatory aspects of the Group's commercial and operational affairs, including:

On a range of UK and international commercial contracts with customers, contractors and suppliers

Undertaking a review of the Group's current international contractual documentation and processes, formulating a proposal to provide a uniform approach going forwards and managing the project to completion and on an on-going basis

Protection and management of its portfolio of trademarks and domain names

On general data protection and privacy matters

To understand the Group's strategy, its operational and commercial needs and, accordingly, its needs for legal advice

To assess, plan and prioritise all legal work and, where necessary, instruct external legal counsel to provide value-for-money support

To deliver all legal services on time and budget

To effectively identify, assess and manage legal risk and to influence stakeholders

ABOUT YOU

With at least 5pqe as an associate in a law firm and, ideally, with some experience gained in house within a business you should have advised on a range of commercial law issues, including a strong working knowledge of intellectual property, technology and data protection matters

Self-motivated and with a 'can-do' attitude, you will be focused on seeking solutions and possibilities rather than impossibilities

Able to manage a heavy and varied workload you will have the ability to adapt in a changing business environment and to embrace and to effect change, including implementing new processes and procedures to ensure a smoother 'user experience' for the business

Lipson Lloyd Jones Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. Please note our advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the minimum level of experience required. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfill this kind of work.
