The firm has a thriving, dynamic three-partner tax team based in both Reading . The work of our team can broadly be divided into four categories:

Corporate: a significant proportion of their work involves supporting our national team of over 100 corporate lawyers. They commonly advise on the tax implications of private equity transactions and transaction structuring, M&A, tax planning for management teams, reorganisations and restructuring including debt restructuring and demergers and advice on joint venture projects.

Venture capital: the firm has one of the UK's leading VCT/EIS tax practices and, as such, a significant proportion of their time is dedicated to advising investors and, in some cases, individual shareholders on their qualifying investments. The firm's structure and restructure investments to ensure compliance and frequently engage with HMRC to seek advance assurances and to pre-empt the impact of the continuously evolving legislative framework in this area.

Real estate: as a firm they employ over 200 real estate practitioners. They support those practitioners by advising on SDLT, LBTT, VAT, capital allowances and the CIS. The firm acts on behalf of a large number of developer clients whom we structure development transactions for, giving rise to complex real estate project based tax issues.

Employee incentives: they design and implement a broad range of employee incentivisation schemes. The firm also advises on the exercise and restructuring of those schemes in the context of M&A and private equity deal structuring.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for the successful individual to become involved in a broad range of tax issues.

The ideal candidate will ideally have gained some post qualified experience at either a leading City or regional practice and be able to demonstrate knowledge and enthusiasm for some or all of the above areas.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

*Qualified Solicitor with at least 1 years experience in Taxation Law with a City or Regional Practice

*Excellent academics - 2:1 degree from a Russell Group university and AAA or AAB at A-Level or equivalent

Desirable:

* Business Development experience
