A great opportunity has risen in central Newcastle, for a trainee and/or experienced Law Costs Draftsman / Costs Draftsperson / Costs Negotiator, to develop/continue their career with a leading regional Private practice law firm.

With an appetite for success our client has built their long-standing reputation based on recommendation and by continuing to develop on in-depth understanding of medical negligence and personal injury. They are able to offer 5-star service to clients and have expanded year on year.

Candidates without prior costing/negotiation experience may be considered if they are from a legal environment with compatible skills i.e Debt Recovery / Personal Injury.

The role on offer is sitting within the Law Costs department, if successful you should anticipate managing your own case load of costs challenges, matters including dealing with solicitors' files across a range of disciplines to include Clinical Negligence / commercial matters and prepare costs claims for submission to opposing solicitors or the courts. Experienced Costs Draftsmen will be expected to draft bills of costs and /or Costs budgets. Suitable candidates may also have the opportunity to provide advocacy at Costs Case Management Conferences.

The firm offer sponsorship to Cost Lawyer qualification to all within once passing probation, regular pay reviews and exposure the highest quality work available.
