A great opportunity if you like a varied and flexible working environment

The Firm
Our client is a private company specialising in estate planning and probate matters, based in Hertfordshire but with advisers located across the south east and the Midlands. This firm is committed to providing an excellent, cost-effective service to clients, and as a result of its modern, forward-thinking approach is growing rapidly. The firm is now looking for a legal professional (solicitor, paralegal, law graduate or even an ambitious legal secretary) with experience in private client (wills and probate) work to join the company. The role is based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, but calls for flexibility with regard to working hours and location, and includes a substantial amount of travelling. This is a three-month contract role but with the possibility of moving to a permanent role for the right candidate and is a great opportunity to join a company which offers great potential in the future.

The Role
You will be advising clients in their own homes on matters relating to wills and probate matters, and should be technically adept at drafting wills and well informed about probate and inheritance issues, although the firm does provide additional training as necessary. Experience in Court of Protection work would be advantageous. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone with a proactive, independent approach, who has a strong background in wills and probate work, enjoys meeting people and likes a working day with plenty of variety. A full clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.

The Candidate
The firm is flexible in terms of background and qualifications, and would consider an application from any legal professional who has experience in and a good understanding of wills and probate matters;
You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and great ‘people’ skills, with an empathetic manner and the ability to explain complex matters in clear language;
Work well in a team, but be equally comfortable working independently, with a proactive approach and be very organised.
This is a short-term contract role, but the firm welcomes applications from candidates who would be interested in looking for a longer term career within the firm; and also would consider someone looking for part-time hours.
