Your new company
Growing organisation based in Manchester City Centre; as part of a new venture, this not-for-profit organisation is looking to recruit an in-house lawyer to support the Head of Legal in a broad legal counsel role.
Your new role
You will work on large scale projects in a complex and politically sensitive environment, providing robust advice on a range of legal matters such as public law, company law, commercial law, procurement law as well as data protection and freedom of information.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified lawyer (Barrister or Solicitor or FCILEx) with experience in a legal counsel role within the public sector. You will need to understand and assimilate information quickly, provide sound legal advice and develop strong professional relationships in complex stakeholder environments. Working knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act is essential and you must have strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a track record of working to high professional standards.
What you'll get in return
You will be offered an initial 2 year fixed term contract with a a view to transferring to a permanent contract later this year. You will be offered a salary of c£40,000 plus benefits.
