A leading international law firm, with a varied client base ranging from promising new start-ups to blue chips and multinationals.

THE ROLE

Within the Private team which has enormous strength in depth across numerous jurisdictions and whose London team works closely with its Private Client groups in Europe, South-east Asia and the Middle East.

Recognised as a market leader for many years, the firm is experienced in advising international families, private banks and fiduciary groups.

They have expertise in advising so-called "new money" clients (entrepreneurs and members of the finance industry), as well as landed estates.

ABOUT YOU

The Private Client team is now seeking an Associate to work on a full range of private client trust and tax planning matters, receiving work from several partners within the department.

The client base is made up of high net worth individuals and the work often has a significant offshore or international element. Specific duties will include:

Advising on trusts and tax planning.

Management of tax driven projects.

Drafting wills and trust documentation.

This role will suit someone with offshore tax and trust experience who has good people skills and who is looking to develop their career within a friendly and collegiate team widely recognised for its expertise in this area.

Candidates must be UK qualified (or have completed the QLTT) and have circa 2-4PQE coming from a recognised firm with a strong private client practice.

The following skills/experience are essential:

Good academics with strong technical ability

Conscientious with good attention to detail

Experience of multi-jurisdictional tax and estate planning

Experience of mentoring junior lawyers and trainees

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and to develop client relationships.

An interest in completing or having completed STEP or CIOT qualifications would be beneficial, although not essential.

Experience of working with clients in the charities sector would be beneficial but not essential
