Due to an increased workload, we are now looking to recruit a Locum Solicitor to work in the heart of the city centre for a minimum of 3 months, with the possibility of being extended further. Your new role
As a Locum Civil Litigation / PI Solicitor, you will be working in the Civil and Personal Injury Team at Birmingham City Council. The main focus of the role will be to work alongside the current team of Assistant Solicitors handling most of the Civil matters within the department. These will range from disputes surrounding properties such as boundary issues to negligence, all falling within Civil Litigation. There may also be a degree of advocacy work required in order to represent the Council. Please note that this role will not require any involvement in Personal Injury or Housing as these are covered elsewhere in the department.
What you'll need to succeed
As a qualified Solicitor, you will have a strong background working within Civil Litigation and experience of handling disputes. Public Sector experience would be highly beneficial, but not essential. If you are from a Personal Injury background, you will be able to transfer your skills to a public sector setting and display an understanding of dispute resolution and Civil Litigation.
