Job Details

Our client is a regional heavyweight and they are looking for a further pensions solicitor to join the Manchester team. They will look at all levels as long as you are a team player

They are now one of the largest teams in the region with six people and several billion pounds of assets under management by pension clients. Clients include global corporations (including Ingersoll Rand, Toyota, Panasonic, Praemium, JEOL and Prime Medica) and well-known UK companies (such as Arighi Bianchi, Travelodge, @SIPP and Peel Ports)

The experience covers a broad variety of scheme types (both final salary and career average schemes), defined contribution and hybrid schemes. This has included advising on pension scheme mergers, demergers, bulk transfers, asset backed funding arrangements, and flexible and regulated apportionment arrangements.

They also have wide experience with specialised pension schemes, including small self-administered schemes and self-invested pensions. In addition, They have been involved in some of the most complex and topical pension-related matters (including multi-party negotiations with the PPF, TPR, trustees and sponsors) which have placed them at the forefront of legal developments and market practice.

The team is committed to innovation and this can be seen through recent expansion and investment. They place an emphasis on recruiting talented, new lawyers (as well as retaining lawyers) because they bring fresh and innovative perspectives to the team. This innovative approach enables them to strive to improve and do things better.

The team works closely with its colleagues across the firm, particularly the Employment team (with whom it has integrated to offer a full-service human resources law practice), the firm's extensive Charity team and the Corporate and Commercial department, to offer a seamless service to clients. This means that they can provide the clients with a holistic service because the pension's team is supported by a wider group of specialist lawyers in complimentary disciplines. As such, they can draw on the expertise of their colleagues in other practice areas in order to provide a first class, comprehensive service to clients.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Advising on the full spectrum of pensions-related matters (with the support of the Partner and colleagues);
  • Taking a proactive approach to business development;

Assisting the Partner and the wider team to push forward with the development of the practice, in line with the objective of becoming the best commercial pensions practice in the region.

They are looking for solicitors and associates at all levels. The key features they require are an exceptional inner drive and a genuine enthusiasm to continue the impressive growth of the pensions practice over the last 12 months. It is important that you enjoy working within a team

Lipson Lloyd Jones Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. Please note our advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the minimum level of experience required. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfill this kind of work.

Company

No two candidates are the same, so recruitment should never be a numbers game. Offering a unique blend of insight, professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm, the accent at Lipson Lloyd-Jones is on ensuring the perfect chemistry between client and candidate.

Lipson Lloyd-Jones has been a major player in the legal recruitment sector since 1987, but our philosophy has changed little since then. In a marketplace increasingly populated by faceless web sites and mega-agencies, Lipson Lloyd-Jones has remained resolutely independent, the human face of recruitment, fully committed to treating each candidate as an individual.

Our mission is to match the right candidate to the right job. Simple? With our wealth of experience, focus, contacts and understanding of the legal recruitment milieu, it can be.
