A leading international US law firm is seeking an experienced Pensions Lawyer to join its Pensions practice team in London. Their Pensions practice is home to over 40 dedicated solicitors worldwide, making them one of the largest and most experienced pure pensions teams in the UK. They pride themselves on being at the forefront of pensions developments and actively seek to influence UK government policy, actively contributing to all the major UK pensions professional bodies, providing secondments to some of their major clients' in-house pension departments, as well as to the Pensions Regulator and the Pensions Protection Fund, and constructively responding to government consultations on proposed policy changes. Their London team is award winning, recognised for the quality of its practice.
Your new role
You will be part of a large team that represents and advises trustees and private clients, specialising in a range of industries, such as; utilities, nuclear and automotive to service sectors, finance and local authorities. Day to day, you will take ownership of multiple projects and be able to adapt your working style for a broad spread of clients. You will also be relied upon in the everyday supervision our your junior colleagues. You will have a natural drive for business development with current and potential clients, an entrepreneurial flair and the ability to capitalise on marketing opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need strong academics (2.1 or higher degree) and ideally 8+ years post qualification pensions practice experience in the UK. You will have an excellent technical and practical knowledge of the law surrounding and affecting pensions. The firm are looking for someone who can take responsibility from day one, advising on a range of contentious and non-contentious pensions matters. There will be plenty of opportunity to represent the firm when meeting clients, so previous experience of business development is preferable.
