Opportunities within Islington Legal Services, Resources Directorate
Several exciting opportunities are available and open to solicitors, barristers, chartered legal executives and paralegals, that are able to meet the specific requirements of the roles at Islington Council, a proactive forward thinking legal service.
We are seeking knowledgeable, passionate and creative thinking lawyers with business acumen, who want to help us make a difference, as we are deeply committed to improvement and great customer service.
The council offers many excellent employee benefits including access to a pension scheme, childcare vouchers, generous annual leave, flexible working arrangements, all in addition to working in a friendly and supportive work environment.
We are looking for applicants with good technical knowledge (ideally in a Local Government context – although this is not essential) and able to demonstrate a “can do” approach.
You must be organised and be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision while being a valuable team player and be able to manage conflicting priorities to deadlines. Applicants must also have excellent communication skills enabling them to build strong relationships with clients.
Community Service Lawyers (Adults) - two fixed term contracts for up to 12 months
You will assist in providing a legal service to our adult and community service team, including advice and support on adult safeguarding, Court of Protection, Care and Mental Health Act advice. You will need to be confident advising at all stages of the case and have the ability to undertake advocacy and to be able to hold a substantial and varied caseload.
