An international household name.

THE ROLE

A new role has arisen for an experienced lawyer to join on a fixed term contract basis for c 12 months.

The work will involve the provision of legal support, drafting agreements and concluding negotiations relating to IT matters for the company.

Key responsibilities:

The creation and / or review of contracts to satisfy GDPR requirements in relation to data sharing and data processing by the company to internationally based companies located outside the UK, within the EU and in other jurisdictions including South Africa, Kazakhstan, Russia.

The creation of contracts with sub-processors, such that the full supply chain is included.

The negotiation and agreement of the above data sharing and processing contracts with management of those individual operations to include any changes to accommodate regional differences in data protection law.

Supporting the company on global projects including GDPR and the Data Protection Bill.

Advising in house staff on a variety of Privacy and Data protection matters

Drafting, reviewing and amending a range of privacy/data protection documentation

Negotiation of contracts relating to the outsourcing of IT functions currently carried out at the company, including migration of infrastructure to the cloud, outsourcing of the service centre, and outsourcing of networks.

Legal support for the project to launch online retail services internationally.

Close liaison with the UK PLC Legal Department, including obtaining approval for any contracts and/or commitments to be signed or undertaken by the UK Legal entity.

Close liaison with Regional Management on any Regional matters relating to GDPR and outsourcing.

ABOUT YOU

A solicitor or barrister with an in depth understanding of GDPR & other DP laws.

Experience of working within a Corporate/Commercial Legal Department

Experience of managing a diverse set of legal tasks and workload

A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

Ideally an in house finance or financial services background

Available at short notice
