THE ROLE
A maternity cover role for a French speaking commercial lawyer to provide legal support to the all commercial areas of the company and its affiliates in France and worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts - Including agreements with new and existing clients.
Drafting and negotiating supplier contracts - Including merchant agreements, goods and services contracts and technology/equipment contracts.
Advising on all commercial areas - Including disputes/litigation, compliance and data protection issues.
Advising on operational areas - Including internal policies and internal/external terms and conditions.
Managing and advising on ad hoc legal queries from across the business, including intellectual property, and HR/employment issues.
Leading and assisting other team members with wider company matters as and when required, including involvement in group wide projects.
ABOUT YOU
Experience gained in house at an international business or law firm across multiple jurisdictions
Legally qualified in France and/or England and Wales.
Excellent drafting skills with strong experience of commercial contracts, including technology contracts and data protection agreements;
Ideally experience in GDPR. Experience in intellectual property law would be an advantage;
Good commercial awareness and strong negotiating skills;
Excellent proficiency in French and English. Good to advanced proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese and other European languages would be an advantage.
A good communicator, you will be able to balance legal risks with commercial risks and work well independently and within a close team.
You should be available at short notice for an initial 6-month fixed term contract, then rolling monthly.
