Lawyer – SCR

The Sheffield City Region is changing. The first Mayor will be elected in May 2018. Do you want to help shape the success of the City Region? Supporting the Executive Team of the City Region you will play a crucial role in delivering the commercial legal advice required to ensure available funding supports new and growing businesses, housing and infrastructure including transport. A track record of drafting funding and other commercial agreements and a good working knowledge of the EU state aid rules will be required. In addition, the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to grow new areas of expertise including information governance and property.

Can you meet the challenge?

We are looking to recruit an experienced lawyer to undertake a wide and varied caseload primarily in the areas of commercial, contracts, EU procurement, state aid and data protection.

You will be required to undertake legal research and provide advice to internal clients, managing workloads, taking instructions and preparing draft documentation. You will be the first point of contact for advice by the organisation across all disciplines, therefore the ability to work independently and manage a caseload are essential. If so, do you have the qualities?

You will be a practicing lawyer with relevant experience in relevant areas. The successful candidate should also have an awareness of the policy climate which Sheffield City Region Combined Authority operates in.
