Arabic Speaking Paralegal, National Law Firm, London, 6 month FTC, up to £25,500

Your new company
This leading human rights and personal injury law firm is a specialist claimant firm, based in the City of London. Since its foundation the firm has won multiple awards and is consistently ranked in the top tiers of both the Legal 500 and Chambers. Over the past 30 years the firm has been involved in ground-breaking cases against multi-national corporations and government authorities, representing national and international individuals and communities on complex matters. The firm's International Department fights human rights abuses by the British Government, sometimes working on historical cases affecting thousands of individuals. They represent clients affected by widespread injuries, transport disasters, defective products and environmental pollution. The firm has one of the country's leading legal teams, who continuously strive to push the boundaries of the law and to champion the rights of the disenfranchised, injured and marginalised.

Your new role
You will sit within the International Department, specialising on Iraqi Litigation cases. You will take instructions from clients and prepare attendance notes. The role will involve extensive client contact, particularly on the telephone. You will interpret oral communications with clients, experts and other third parties from Arabic to English and vice versa. You will liaise with Arabic and UK speaking clients, experts, lawyers and third parties, both in writing and orally. You will sort, organise, manage, review and analyse documents relevant to the litigation, and translate the same to a high standard. You will also take notes at meetings and prepare file notes, as well as preparing court bundles. The role may require overseas travel.

What you'll need to succeed
You are fluent in Arabic and English in all areas; reading, writing and speaking. You have previous paralegal experience (the client is flexible as to which practice). You have good academics. You are a good communicator, can deal with sensitive issues, and are committed to human rights.

What you'll get in return
Benefits include 29 days holiday inclusive of 4 days compulsory leave taken during Christmas. You will be entitled a contributory pension scheme, life assurance (x4 annual salary), interest free season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and childcare vouchers. The firm also hosts regular social activities.
