Your new role
Working closely with Group Legal Counsel and Chief Science Officer, your role will include supporting the business with chemical and environmental regulatory matters worldwide. You will assist the business across Supply Chain, R&D, Engineering and Commercial Corporate Services to operate on a day-to-day basis as well as advise 3rd party clients on the import and usage of chemical materials across a variety of jurisdictions (e.g. existing chemical regulations, SDS and transportation documentation). A key aspect of your role will include horizon scanning providing advanced warnings of any relevant chemical and environmental change within emerging markets like South America and established marked like Asia. Furthermore you will assist with all overseas operations across the company's subsidiaries and representative offices across the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, ensuring that all local chemical and environmental requirements are achieved. This role is a part-time (Approx. 3 days a week) 6-12 month FTC for a candidate with relevant experience across all areas.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed within this position you should have at least 3 years' experience working within an international company dealing with cross-border issues. You should have relevant experience across Chemical and Environmental regulations.

Must Have:

  • Honours degree in scientific discipline (Chemistry or Chemical/Physical sciences)
  • 3-5 years' experience (minimum)
  • Sound understanding of chemicals regulatory matters, environmental matters and scientific mattes worldwide APAC experience (China essential)
  • Working knowledge of the most up to date chemical regulatory requirements

Desirable:

  • Post-graduate regulatory qualification
  • Technology/Chemical sector experience
  • APAC language skills
  • Awareness of the legislation governing the approval of products
  • Ability to communicate regulatory matters and issues to other colleagues in a multi-cultural setting
  • Fully computer literate and competent with leading Microsoft and industry based software skills
