Government Strategic Lawyer
We are currently recruiting a strategic lawyer to advise on a range of matters within a busy central government department.
This central government department is looking for someone to get involved in developing, designing and implementing government policies. The role will also involves drafting secondary legislation and supporting other litigation teams in defending judicial review.
This department has 5 sub teams which you could be allocated to, or become a flexible resource across all five. Therefore, you will be involved in a varied caseload which is all high profile and some relating to Brexit. The cases you will work on are very topical and fast moving, involving all different areas of law.
You will have experience of advising on policies and drafting legislation's, ideally from a government background. The ideal candidate will have good understanding of public law, the Freedom of Information Act and the Data Protection Act. It is also beneficial to have advised on health care policies.
This role requires someone who is flexible and able to think strategically. It is a very client based role and therefore you must be able to build and maintain relationships.
