Family Solicitor

Our client is an established local firm wth multiple offices and they are seeking an experienced Solicitor (minimum 5 years PQE) to manage their busy Family department which covers a wide variety of areas including divorce, financial remedy, separation, injunction and public and private children matters.

Accustomed to handling matters from inception to completion, and experience of conducting your own advocacy, the successful candidate will take over an existing caseload of predominantly privately-funded divorce, financial remedy and private children matters. A demonstrable appreciation of good practice in private client billing procedures and understanding of Legal Aid and CCMS is essential. Experience of injunction work an advantage. Panel membership and/supervisor status preferred.

Based at the Hartlepool office, with a requirement to cover branch offices at Peterlee and Catterick Garrison, you will be required to attend clients, over the telephone, in the office, at a branch office or at another location outside of the office; to take instructions and provide advice, showing an ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritising your workload and progressing matters accordingly. You will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills with a range of people from all backgrounds and work as a team member with different levels of staff. You will need to be self-serving using Microsoft packages and have a current full driving licence.
