General Counsel & Head of Corporate Compliance

Who we are

We’re innovation, curiosity and diversity – multiplied by 94,000 professionals in 150 countries. As a global leader in research-focused healthcare, we’re constantly learning and growing – and seeking people who share these goals.

The Position

This is an opportunity for a highly qualified and experienced lawyer to lead an impressive legal function supporting a broad range of departments within a world leading organisation. In this high profile role you’ll be tasked with delivering strong leadership and excellent advice at the highest level, amidst a complex and challenging commercial landscape.

Offering opportunity to exert influence in a range of specialist areas, the role includes Chair of the Compliance Committee, Company Secretary, Data Privacy Officer for the UK pharma business, and member of the Governance Committee, all offering further opportunity to lead and contribute to a well informed and resourced compliance strategy.  This role is prominent among our senior leadership team and provides opportunity for leadership, management, mentoring and professional practice in a senior capacity.

Who you are

You’re someone who wants to influence your own development. You’re looking for a company where you have the opportunity to pursue your interests across functions and geographies, and where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting point.  You are an experienced people leader, well-versed in bringing individuals together for greater impact.

A high achieving lawyer with substantial PQE and demonstrable leadership to bring to the organisation, you’ll have established a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, commercial law and corporate compliance. Contributing to business processes, data protection, and healthcare legislation issues, you will employ a broad understanding of the environment in which we operate, able to add credibility and substance to agreements, negotiations and important commercial matters.

In return we offer a competitive salary plus the excellent benefits you would expect from a bluechip organisation, including a genuine interest in your development.
