In-House Legal Counsel Solicitor Job in Swindon with international consumer facing business

This employer of choice are an international company who are looking for a qualified lawyer to join their Swindon office and provide legal support on a wide range of issues to the whole of the business. The role entails extensive contact and interaction with business representatives at all levels of the organisation.

Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Group Solicitor, you will assist the Group Legal function, with specific responsibility for day-to-day legal matters across the core businesses within the Group and with particular emphasis on commercial law, contract drafting/negotiation and contract management, thereby ensuring that the Group remains legally compliant and that risk is mitigated effectively.

Within your new role you will provide general and commercial legal support to businesses in the Group, including advice on tender proposals; contract drafting, reviewing and negotiating; dealing with ad-hoc customer/supplier complaints; corporate support in relation to the Group's M&A strategy; advising on UK competition law and data protection matters; supporting with intellectual property and IT matters; and providing first level support in relation to dispute resolution. Other duties will involve managing external advisors on discreet matters and assisting with drafting trading and internal company policies and dealing with compliance/enforcement issues.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified lawyer with 4+ PQE, although an applicant with less or more experience will be considered. Experience in a non-contentious commercial role is highly desirable; in-house exposure would be an advantage but is not critical. You will be inquisitive, with a thirst to learn and a proactive approach to personal development, and possesses strong analytical skills. You will need to be able to work comfortably both in a team and individually.
