Job Title: Commercial Legal Counsel

Location: Leeds

Salary: Up to £65k (DOE)

My client, a leading brand in the Technology, Media & Telecoms sector are looking to hire a Commercial Legal Counsel to join their large In-house Legal function, focused on providing legal advice/support for a wide range of their high value commercial deals and transactions .

As a leading name in the sector, this opportunity will provide an ambitious solicitor with the opportunity to work on some high quality transactions whilst working closely with a really experienced team and some excellent senior solicitors.

The successful candidate will be predominantly responsible for the following:

• Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts for the B2B Business Unit.
• Providing legal advice, assistance and support (on both a proactive and reactive basis) to relevant business areas and other members of the UK legal team on relevant legal issues.
• Monitoring advice given by external solicitors and ensuring it is appropriately disseminated to internal customers.
• In the case of disputes, working closely with the dispute resolution team to determine position and strategy, advise the relevant internal customers and achieve resolution.
• Keeping contract templates and internal briefing notes up-to-date and providing ongoing training so that the business can operate as efficiently as possible and in a way that manages key legal risks.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

• 1-4 years PQE (This is only presented as a guide. More or less experienced candidates will be considered)
• Good negotiation and influencing skills
• Comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders and executives
• Ability to organise, prioritise and manage deadlines, in a high velocity, rapidly evolving and demanding work environment
