Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer

Venn Group's specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for a Contracts & Procurement Locum Lawyer to join a Local Authority based within the West Midlands. This contract is offered for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension and the flexibility of homeworking and condensed hours for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will be a Solicitor or Legal Executive with previous experience specialising in Commercial Contract Law and Procurement, ideally from a Local Authority background. You will be expected to advise and draft a variety of contracts as required.

Duties may include:

• Providing legal support on a range of contract & procurement matters to internal clients, dealing with external lawyers and other professionals
• Drafting, advising, reviewing and negotiating small to large complex contracts from SLAs, Consultancy Agreements, Framework Agreements, and advising on the Council's charging powers to generate income and procurement law
• Efficiently manage workload to deliver and evidence outcomes to timescale and within budget

Candidates will be considered on both a full-time and part-time basis for the position, and an hourly rate of £35-£47 dependent on experience is offered. The right candidate will have the flexibility of homeworking and condensed hours after an initial period.
