Job Details

An Adult Social Care Lawyer job with a shared local authority service provider based in North-West London.

Your new company
This shared service provider in North-West London is looking for an experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their large, specialist legal team in supporting local councils and their clients on matters related to adult social care and education, particularly in view of another large council joining the practice within the next year. This role is a 3-month rolling contract.

Your new role
You will manage a caseload of adult social care matters, providing advice and representation where required, as well as undertaking research as requested. You will work for a number of public sector clients across this local authority's shared service team. You will provide advice and training on relevant developments in law and policy, particularly as relates to mental capacity, human rights, community care and special educational needs, and conduct judicial review claims and Court of Protection matters.

What you'll need to succeed
You should be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, CILEX officer or foreign qualified lawyer with relevant experience in the UK. You should have up-to-date exposure to adult social care and education law, with at least 2 years' PQE, though other levels will also be considered. You should have prior experience conducting judicial review and court of protection matters.

You should have prior exposure to Public Law, but you do not need to have worked in a local government setting before. You should have prior experience providing advice to senior and junior members of staff alike. On being made an offer, you will be required to undertake a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check.

What you'll get in return
In return, you can expect to join a high-performing legal team, working across a number of service areas in North-West London and the Home Counties. You will join an ambitious, friendly environment, and receive a competitive salary, as well as the flexibility to work from home one day per week, where business needs allow.
