(Salary MG2 £53,835 to £59,937)
We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Team Leaders who are committed to do the best in supporting clients and developing others and are able to assist in managing our established Children’s Social Care teams based in Buckinghamshire.
HB Public Law is one of the country’s leading local authority legal practices and has offices in Harrow and Aylesbury. We are a Lexcel and IIP Gold accredited practice and pride ourselves on delivering a high quality service to six local authority clients, schools and other public bodies in London and the South East.
This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a key role in undertaking varied, high quality work with like minded and supportive colleagues who are dedicated to public service and making a difference in local communities.
About the position
The successful candidate will be expected to assist the Team Leaders with leadership and management of the team, to support the client teams and develop junior staff members. They will personally undertake matters of a more complex nature and duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Receiving and allocating instructions
- Active supervision of staff to include appraisals, one to one’s and general mentoring
- Advising senior officers and elected members at committee in a proactive and politically sensitive manner;
- Acting as the senior liaison point for the practice’s clients; and
- Supporting the strategic development of HB Public Law jointly with the other Team Leaders and Principal Lawyers.
The role will be based primarily in our Buckinghamshire office, but there will be travel required to our Harrow office, clients’ offices and different Courts, including the occasional evening meeting attendance and covering the duty call out rota.
About you
The successful candidate will not only have extensive previous childcare and SEN experience but will also be passionate about teamwork and developing others. A high level of client contact will be involved in this role and therefore it is essential that you exhibit good client care skills and can build strong working relationships with others.

The deadline for all applications is Monday the 9th July 2018 and these should be made via the Harrow Council website
