My client is a regional firm who is seeking to appointment a senior Private Client Solicitor who is STEP qualified to assist with complex Private Client matters. They are not looking for someone to deal with simple Wills and Probate matters but are seeking someone who has experience of complex tax planning and trusts issues. You will ideally also have some experience supervising a team so you can assist with looking after things within the department when the Head of Department is out of the office.

The current department consists of the Head of Department who works 3 days per week, 3 solicitors all of which are STEP qualified and 2 legal executives. The current managing partner was promoted within the firm, whilst other partners are from a background working in the City of London. All of their work comes from professionnal referral from accounts for example and their client base is nationwide. Their clients range from HNW London Estates and multi million pound enterprises to elderly client who have a small estate.

You must have excellent academics and experience handling complex private client matters. They are not looking for someone who wants to just plod along drafting a few wills and lasting powers of attorney. They really need someone who wants to tackle some complex tax planning and trusts issues.
