for England & Wales

In anticipation of the retirement of The Editor at the end of 2019, applications
are invited for the post of Editor of The Weekly Law Reports. The appointee will
become The Editor of The Incorporated Council of Law Reporting for England
and Wales from 2020.
The successful applicant will be a barrister or solicitor and will lead an editorial
team of nearly forty, including over thirty qualified lawyers. An initial annual
salary of £85,000 plus benefits will rise to £92,000 on appointment as The Editor.
The role includes editing The Weekly Law Reports. From 2020 the position will
expand to be the Editor of The Law Reports, and to manage the editors of The
Industrial Cases Reports, The Business Law Reports and The Public and Third
Sector Law Reports.
The Incorporated Council of Law Reporting for England and Wales is a
registered charity which has been publishing law reports since 1865. The
Council currently trades in nearly sixty countries and publishes online and in
print.
Applicants will be asked to write a law report, to edit another law report, and to
select cases for reporting as part of the selection process.
