Procurement and Commercial Services is at the very centre of procurement and
commercial contracts delivery within Leeds City Council.

The post holder will provide legal and commercial advice to support the delivery of the Council’s Procurement and Commercial Service.

We are now seeking a self-motivated, experienced Procurement and Commercial lawyer (solicitor, barrister or FCILEx) to join our team to provide legal and commercial support to key projects/procurements across the Council and the wider City Region.

The role would provide the opportunity to:
(i) be involved in high profile and complex projects in Leeds such as HS2, a city
wide district heating scheme and world class events;
(ii) take the lead on regional projects, procurements and investment funds; and (iii) help deliver procurements (worth £800m p/a) to support all the Council’s service areas.

You will need to have the proven ability to lead, manage and advise on complex
legal and commercial work, managing competing priorities and delivering clear and accurate advice, often to tight timescales.

This is a great opportunity to move into a senior legal role which can offer a variety of work in a vibrant and forward thinking environment.

The role offers the opportunity for flexible working and a generous annual leave entitlement.
