Associate Solicitor 5 + PQE - Property Litigation

A central based Legal 500 firm are keen to appoint a Senior Solicitor / Associate into their Property Litigation team in Cardiff. 

The team is 5 strong and this role will see you manage 3 junior members of staff whilst acting as the second senior solicitor in the team. This practice is ranked tier 1 for Property Litigation in Wales (Legal 500).

The firm act for a wide range of corporates, investors and asset management companies, retailers, residential landlords and individuals and boast particular expertise in the social housing, retail and leisure, development, charities, government and banking sectors. 

The person will be expected to drive the practice forward and to be engaged and enthusiastic about getting involved in business development initiatives within the market.

Specific experience in Commercial Property Litigation is essential and will be a key focus of this role. Experience and a willingness to get involved in Social Housing work would be desirable.     

The successful candidate will be well supported at Partner and Solicitor level with partnership opportunities in the future.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the entire team and will be required to undertake fee-earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the team and the firm. The role will require a modern and commercial approach to disputes. Some of the work derives from their London offices with a focus on residential property management.

You will draft court documents, such as: pleadings, witness statements, statements of costs, cost schedules and orders; property notices under sections 25-27 and 40 LTA 1954, section 146 notices, section 8 notices, section 21 notices, and TIWGA notice and concise letters/emails of advice and correspondence to opponents and third parties.

The role would require you to work with the team on a variety of contentious property disputes and to have an understanding of risk and best practice and a commitment to a collaborative approach to problem solving.

On offer is the opportunity to take on an interesting and varied role within the legal sector at a reputable legal practice. There is the chance to work 4 days per week however full time is preferred.
