Data Privacy

Based in Cardiff (although travel to London will be expected from time to time) the role of paralegal will work closely with the data privacy lawyers within the firm and report on a day to day basis to the Head of Cardiff Office and the Managing Partner.

The Paralegal role will provide both fee-earning and administrative support to the team with a view to ensuring that individual tasks are completed cost-effectively and at the appropriate level.

The employment team is one of the leading employment law practices both domestically and internationally. The team is amongst the largest in the UK. The work comprises a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters for a diverse range of clients.

Responsibilities

The job holder will provide support to the data privacy team within both the EIR and CMI divisions of the firm in both a fee earning and marketing capacity. The main focus for this role will be on Data Subject Rights (DSR) requests and other data privacy matters and issues.

Other key elements of the role are:

• Legal research
• Assisting in the various marketing initiatives within the department including, in particular, researching and assisting lawyers in preparing for conferences and other speaking engagements
• Providing assistance with billing, narratives and administration
• Working on international projects
• Willingness to undertake client secondment opportunities when needed

Additional information

Candidates will have excellent academics along with legal qualifications or previous legal experience.  Candidates will also have IT, numeracy, practical and analytical skills, a clear communication style (both spoken and written), and above all, must be a team player with a passion to work with a fast-paced professional and friendly team.

Knowledge of employment law and a flair for drafting would be advantageous.
