Six Month contract for Contracts Solicitor, 5PQE+ West London based University, £50,000 pro rata

Your new company
A west London based University are seeking a Contracts Solicitor to join their busy legal department for an initial six month contract. You will be join a top ranked modern university in London and a top 60 nationally ranked university. They are pleased to reveal 98% of their graduates fine themselves in employment within 6 months of graduating.

Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Legal Services, you will undertake a range of legal services in support of the University. This will include managing the legal review of a full range of contracts, licences and ad hoc agreements. Support the development of and drafting compliance related polices, reviewing and incorporating relevant legislation. Finally you will provide practical, robust and comprehensive legal advice and assistance to the University in respect of its activities as required.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you should hold a professional legal qualification as a solicitor/barrister. Minimum 5 years plus relevant post-qualification experience at a law firm or in an in-house environment. Proven ability to provide practical, outcome-focused legal advice and support. You should also have extensive experience of contract drafting review, interpretation and amendment as well as advising on and interpreting legislation. Finally, experience of liaising with clients and external legal advisers. Understanding of Freedom of Information Act 2000, and Data Protection Act 1998 would be preferable also.
