Your new role

As a locum Licensing Solicitor, you will be required to help process all external licensing requests from various outlets including Hackney Carriage, liquor and entertainment licenses, public entertainment licenses and potentially any relating to events / festivals throughout the city. This will also involve the enforcement of any licenses being issued including the breach of any of the conditions. You will be required to attend planning committee meetings on a regular basis which will be conducted at the council house.

What you'll need to succeed

As an experienced Licensing Solicitor, you will have ideally come from a local authority background and have experience in license applications through either applying or granting. Experience of working within licensing committee's would be highly beneficial, experience of licensing is essential for this position.

What you'll get in return

As part of Birmingham City Councils Big City Plan, by 2022, they will have hoped to have created an additional 50,000 jobs in the city and contributing over £2 billion to the economy each year. You will be helping to contribute to providing 65,000 square meters of new and improved public spaces and over 5,000 new homes and leisure facilities whilst valuing the city's heritage and cultural assets. This will all culminate in the 2022 Commonwealth Games bringing Birmingham once again to the world stage.
