Locum Research Contracts & Intellectual Property Lawye

An excellent opportunity has arisen within a prestigious University based in the Midlands. The legal services team are looking for a Research Contracts and Intellectual Property Lawyer for at least a 6 month period with a very high possibility of extension.

Applications are welcome from Qualified Solicitors, Barristers, Legal Executives and non-qualified Lawyers who have the relevant experience will be considered

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Reviewing research & innovation contracts presented by sponsors and collaborators to safeguard the University's ability to publish results and protect its intellectual property
• Provide commercial and contractual advice across a range of topics, including data protection, intellectual property and licencing law
• Undertaking due diligence on contracts to ensure the terms meet the expectations of the academic staff
• Reviewing and drafting various contracts, collaboration agreements, subcontracts, disclosure agreements, data processing agreements and other research & innovation contracts and liaised with sponsors and collaborators

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy but friendly team and an attractively hourly rate of £35-45 per hour depending on experience is on offer. There is also the possibility of making this assignment outside IR35
