Solicitor or Legal Executive

We are one of Bristol’s leading specialist Family law firms, working with clients nationwide. We also have Education, Wills and Probate, Employment and Conveyancing departments. Currently we have four offices in Bristol and Bath. The firm has a Legal Aid franchise and carries out work under the Legal Aid scheme as well acting for clients on a private basis. Due to further expansion and an increase in new client inquires inquiries several exciting opportunities have arisen within our Family Department. We are seeking to appoint three Solicitors or Legal Executives to join Watkins Solicitors on a full time or part time basis. The Family department works as a team. Continual training is very much supported by the firm. The firm embraces new technology to assist with work.

1.The successful candidate will carry out a range of family cases, including children cases both private law and public law as well as divorce and finance cases. This role may suit a newly qualified solicitor or somebody more experienced. Cases will be funded by legal aid and privately funded.

2.The successful candidate will carry out a range of public law children cases and clients will mainly be funded under the legal aid scheme.  Children Panel accreditation whilst advantageous is not essential. The firm currently has a number of complex cases. Should the candidate currently not be on the Children Panel, the firm would support accreditation. 

3.The successful candidate will carry out a range of divorce and financial cases. Some experience in this area of work is essential.

The successful candidates will initially be based at our North Street branch, but may be required to attend other branches on occasion. If candidates would prefer to be based at other offices this may be accommodated.  Candidates should have a valid practising certificate.

The salary will be highly competitive commensurate with experience and qualification.
