Commercial Solicitor

Our client is a vibrant and friendly practice and is one of Yorkshires top regional practices. The firm's clients range from large corporations to SMEs, medium-sized businesses and private individuals all over the country. They have developed their reputation and size by delivering tailored legal solutions to meet the needs of its clients, with strong endorsements and recommendations attracting new work and lawyers from the competition. They are continuing to increase as it attracts larger corporate clients who have recognized the value that our client delivers, and the expertise it offers across its core areas of practice. The wider department comprises of 6 partners but you will find yourself working directly with a highly experienced partner who gained considerable experience within an international law firm before joining this team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a friendly and close knit team.

In this role you will working alongside the Partner advising on and drafting commercial agreements including IT contracts, agency and franchising. You will be advising on IP rights and dealing with trade mark applications, advising on GDPR. There will be plenty of interaction with the wider corporate team and with other departments such as the disputes team. There will be opportunities for business development and career progression, although they don't expect you to bring work in at this stage in your career they involve their more junior lawyers closely with their clients and in their event, developing skills at an early stage in their career which serve them well in the future and really help create well rounded lawyers.

The successful candidate should ideally be between NQ Solicitor and 1years' PQE. Commercial, IP and IT experience would be useful but not essential. Therefore, our client would be happy to consider applications from candidates who fall outside of this bracket, but can demonstrate the relevant skillset and passion necessary for the role.
