Job Details
A Bridging Finance Lender is looking for a Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their growing team in Swiss Cottage, London. The role would be ideal for a Solicitor or Legal Executive, with at least 3-5 years’ experience in residential and commercial property, who is looking for a move away from a traditional practising role.
Duties:
- Dealing with all property and commercial legal queries/issues
- Reviewing reports on title and legal packs
- Reporting to the credit committee
- Working closely with Underwriters
- Instructing and liaising with external Solicitors and Valuers
- Overall review and monitoring of cases
- Dealing with debt recovery
- Issuing security documentation
- Drafting and negotiating contracts, inter-creditor deeds, variation agreements
- Dealing with consent applications from borrowers
- Drafting board minutes
- Reporting to institutional funding lines
- Compliance with data protection and money laundering obligations
- Identifying improvements to procedures and processes within other areas of the business
- Flexibility to assist with the wider needs of the business as and when required
Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Applications are invited from qualified and non-qualified legal professionals with 3-5 years’ experience in residential and commercial property
- Experience in dealing with freehold, leasehold, sales, purchases, post completions, refinance, deeds of variation, postponement, lease extension, renewal, and mortgages desirable
- Thorough understanding of the UK property market is a necessity
- Detailed understanding of money laundering and the measures/systems in place to avoid it
- Sound regulatory knowledge
- Ability to prioritise effectively to manage competing deadlines
- Proactive, hardworking and able to take a pragmatic approach to lending
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Good IT skills
