Job Details

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Costs Lawyer to join a leading legal employer who offers an exceptional quality of work and continue to go from strength to strength. The role is a 12-month fixed term contract and is based in central London.

The team deals with complex costs litigation in both the personal injury and commercial sectors. The team advises on all aspects of costs throughout the lifetime of the file from retainer to costs assessment, reserves, budgeting and strategy. In addition, a skilled team of advocates regularly attends Court throughout the Country on not only assessment hearings but CCMCs, PTR hearings and application hearings.

They are paying a competitive package of c.£40,000-50,000 dependent level of experience. In addition, a fantastic benefits package is also on offer which includes 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays, health insurance, critical-illness cover, death-in-service and childcare vouchers.

The role

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract. You will have at least 8 years’ experience in costs litigation in both Defendant and Claimant and have a sound knowledge of CPR procedures.

You will manage a complex costs litigation caseload to include high value multi-track matters in both personal injury and commercial litigation. Responsibilities in the role will include drafting costs budgets, assessing bills of costs, drafting points of dispute, drafting bills of costs, drafting replies, negotiating settlements, drafting schedules of costs, attend CCMCs and attend assessment hearing/oral reviews.
