We have a number of great opportunities in our Legal Team that have arisen as part of the innovative and forward thinking journey we have recently embarked upon, implementing our Customer Connect Programme which will transform the way we deliver services, by maximising digital technology and putting customers at the heart of everything we do. The posts will be based in the beautiful market town of Kendal in South Lakeland, a district covering parts of the stunning Lake District National Park and the western parts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. With friendly communities, low crime rate, cultural attractions and stunning locations, South Lakeland makes an attractive proposition for one and all.

Permanent Solicitor: responsible for providing advice to clients on a range of matters including litigation, prosecutions, licensing, environmental health and general governance matters.

 

Fixed Term Solicitor: responsible for providing advice to clients on a range of matters including property   and contract matters as well as general governance matters.

Candidates should possess experience in property law, contract law and at least one of the following:- local government, planning and right to buy matters as well as possessing a relevant degree and current practising certificate.

To be a success in our Legal Team you will be a strong team player, able to use sound judgment to solve problems and enjoy a challenge.  With effective communication skills, you will be committed to delivering the best possible service for the benefit of our residents. Possession of good IT literacy skills and the ability to use electronic publications for the purpose of legal work and research are critical.
