North-West London Borough are seeking a Commercial Legal Assistant for a 3 month contract, £Competitive rate

Your new company
North-west London Borough operating under a shared service model, employing up to 150 Lawyers across several locations. As a fast growing public sector legal practice, they work with a number of leading authorities in the UK and are now seeking a Commercial Legal Assistant to join the busy team.

Your new role
As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for advising on and managing the conduct of legal files for commercial matters including property, planning, regeneration, contract and procurement law on behalf of the legal team. You will provide assistance and research support to lawyers as requested and assist with training of officers both on and off site. You will be expected to provide administrative and systems assistance as a super user of an electronic case management system. Finally you will maintain your own caseload and uphold the highest standards of client care in everything you do.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role you should be educated to degree standard, with a qualification in law e.g. law degree, CPE, LPC or be studying for or obtained a recognised legal qualification. Should you have substantial experience working in a legal environment in lieu of qualification this will also be considered. In addition to practical experience, you will have general knowledge of English law, practice and procedure in property, planning, regeneration, contracts and procurement areas and have an understanding of public law principles as they apply to local government.
