Head of Real Estate & Commercial

A multi-sited very strong regional firm is looking to make a senior appointment with the hire of an experienced solicitor to head up the firms' Real Estate & Commercial Division with a view to growing the practices' offering further.

This firm has an excellent pedigree and has been established for some considerable time. It has a network of offices covering the West Midlands, Staffordshire and Northamptonshire and is able to offer the full spectrum of legal services to both individuals and commercial organisations alike.

As a consequence of growth and also a recent strategic restructure, the firm is keen to speak with a solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE who is looking for a role that is something that's a bit different from the norm. In this role you will report to the Director and will be responsible for all aspects of commercial property as well as any commercial work emanating from real estate transactions meaning that you will enjoy a broad and varied caseload. In addition, you will be tasked with growing the department across the firms' network of offices so there is some flexibility as to where the role can be based. The firm does have an existing client base so there is already work to service; however, you will be encouraged to leverage off previous longstanding clients of the firm to generate further business whilst at the same time be able to go out and develop the department as you see fit in order to open up new revenue streams.

This role is different as you will have the freedom and autonomy to really make the department your own, so this is the ideal opportunity for someone who is ambitious, enthusiastic and has a desire to really make their mark and develop their own specialist practice. You will not undertake business development, networking and marketing on your own as you will be heavily supported by the firms' Business Development Manager. What the firm really wants in this regard is to leverage off your experience of generating new work to build the practice area and the Business Development Manager will then do the rest leaving you to concentrate on servicing client needs.

The current caseload comprises around three quarters commercial property matters with the remainder covering a wider commercial remit and you will effectively develop and lead a team across a network of offices; identifying and manging legal rises with regard to commercial plans of the business and also be responsible for a wide range of legal documents to include commercial agreements, unilateral undertakings, S106 agreements, property contracts, leases and security documents to name but a few.

This firm is able to offer a competitive salary and benefits package which includes a generous holiday allowance and a lucrative bonus scheme. In addition, the firm is able to provide a very supportive, down to earth environment whilst allowing you a large degree of autonomy to develop the team further so for more information on this Head of Real Estate & Commercial opportunity please contact Matt Robinson at QED Legal.
