Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Lawyer - Leeds

Our client has an impressive global footprint working for clients from the UK, Europe, Asia and America, across a wide range of sectors including retailers, manufacturers, sports clients and financial services providers.

They are looking for a lawyer who will be working as part of a pan-European and global Data Privacy and Cybersecurity team, in a multi-cultural, international and challenging environment. The role involves working on a variety of GDPR-related and e-privacy projects, and the successful candidate will be involved in tasks such as gap-analysis reporting, preparing presentations for clients, reviewing documents, advising on compliance issues, helping clients respond to data subject requests, dealing with regulatory complaints and assisting with data breach reporting.

The ideal candidate will have worked as part of a team on data protection, though our client appreciates that most candidates will not have worked in firms which have a specialist team in this area. Therefore, candidates who can demonstrate that they have done some work in this area with supervision will still be considered for the role, as will those from Intellectual Property backgrounds.

Location is not an issue for our client as whilst this role is nominally based from Leeds, finding the right candidate is more important than you attending the office day to day. Therefore, they will be flexible regarding working arrangements and will tailor the role to the particular person. There will also be ample opportunity for candidates who enjoy getting out the office and meeting people, to do so, both nationally and internationally.

An excellent opportunity at a leading international law firm, to join a team specialising in a growing and interesting area of law.

Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.

Company

Brooke Thornham Consulting is a legal recruitment business established in April 2018 as a partial continuation of a previous brand which had enjoyed a successful 10 years of trading from 2007 and built a stellar reputation. With offices in Leeds, we specialise in the recruitment of Solicitors from Newly Qualified through to Partner level, and our focus is on the commercial market.

We are well networked with clients in the north of England where we serve an enviable client list encompassing Top 20 national brands and also regional practices and boutique firms. Our trade mark is our pragmatism, and trying to offer value at every opportunity.

We believe that when you give more, you get more. That’s why we’re generous with our time and expertise, and why we go out of our way to understand you, share our knowledge and add something extra – every time you work with us.

We’re experts in our field – and we get results. But over time, we develop something even more important: the intuitive understanding that really special relationships are built on.
