Lawyer (Governance and Regulatory)

Full Time Permanent Post: 37 hours per week (Part time considered)

Grade 9: Salary from £43,104 to £46,152

We are also looking for a highly motivated Lawyer with knowledge and experience of local government law and practice and in particular, experience in at least two of the following areas: Housing, Licensing, Planning, Information law, Enforcement and Employment law.

Reporting to the Senior Solicitor and Deputy Monitoring Officer, you will be expected to manage a busy and varied workload, undertaking advocacy in the civil and criminal Courts, and providing high quality, proactive and enabling legal advice to internal clients.  You will be required to regularly advise Members and Senior Officers, and attend the Council’s Licensing and Planning Committees on a regular basis. This will involve occasional evening work.

The Council operates flexible working practices.
