Solicitor – Directorate of Corporate Resources

37 hours per week, permanent

Salary Scale: SO2 i.e £29,055 - £30,756 per annum (Subject to Job Evaluation)

 

You will undertake legal work across a full range of the Council’s activities including preparation of contracts and agreements, Information law, conveyancing, litigation and advocacy.

As part of a small team, you will need to be hard working and adaptable with the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, client officers and Council members.

 The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister (or is about to qualify) and preferably some post qualification experience.
  • Minimum degree qualification plus qualified as a Solicitor or Barrister.
  • Current Practising Certificate and evidence of continuing Professional Development
  • Good working knowledge of local authority law and the legal and statutory requirements of a District Council
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following areas; civil and/or criminal litigation, planning law, contract law, commercial and/or residential conveyancing, Information Law.
  • A full current Driving Licence.
