An opportunity has arisen within our legal department for a permanent, full time, qualified solicitor to join our team and make a valuable and positive contribution to Copeland B.C.
Copeland is located on the west coast of Cumbria and is a unique and memorable borough, with an extensive western coastline around the principle town of Whitehaven, showcasing some of the world's most stunning scenery among the mountains and lakes of Lake District National Park, a recognised Area of Outstanding National Beauty, and, most recently receiving the award of a designated World Heritage site.

We are looking to recruit a talented and ambitious individual who is keen to build their career, while at the same time make a significant contribution to shaping the future of Copeland.
Essentially you will be a qualified solicitor (public or private sector) with a number of years post-qualifying experience. Ideally you will have a detailed knowledge of local government law and have responsibility for a range of legal portfolio matters including property, contracts, and general governance. The successful applicant will be a strong team player, have excellent communication skills, be able to use sound and professional judgement for problem solving, and, enjoy a challenge.
