RG7/8 (SCP 39–48) £35,229 to £43,757 pa plus a Market Supplement of £4,000 up to SCP 45 and £5,000 for SCP 46-48 and Practising Certificate paid

Full-time, 37 hours per week (Part time will be considered for a minimum of 21 hour per week)

Wishing to add resilience to Reading Borough Council’s Legal Services Section to deliver the challenging corporate contract work, we have an opportunity for a Solicitor or Legal Executive to join our team.

The work is varied and challenging and this could be an opportunity to broaden your general commercial experience.

The main role of this post is the preparation of contracts for the wide range of services which the Council purchases and JCT and other types of standard construction and works contracts, additionally the provision of advice on Contract and Procurement Law including the Public Contract Regulations 2015.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with proven post qualification experience and able to demonstrate experience in all aspects of Contract law and practice.
