Contentious Probate Solicitor - Swift Progression Opportunities

A long established and very strong regional practice is undergoing the next phase of the expansion of its Dispute Resolution Team and is now seeking to appoint a Contentious Probate Solicitor to its Worcester office in what will be a key, strategic hire.

With around 150 staff spread across a number of offices throughout Worcestershire and the Black Country, this firm provides expert legal advice across the full spectrum of legal disciplines to both individuals and businesses alike. The firm is a major player within the region and is very active within the local community and is instrumental in delivering a number of charitable initiatives.

The practices' specialist Contentious Probate Team is actively looking to increase its standing in the sector and so is eager to appoint an additional Contentious Probate Solicitor to its expanding team. You will have anything from 2 to 5 years' PQE and will have gained solid exposure to contested probate matters to include trustee disputes, claims against estates and executors and claims for beneficiaries. Given the location of the firm and its client base, you will gain exposure to clients in the agriculture sector as well as those with landed estates in addition to working with owner-managed businesses, directors and a variety of other professionals, so the quality and complexity of the work will be of high calibre. Whilst ACTAPS membership would be plus, it is by no means a pre-requisite and there is scope for the firm to support you in attaining this membership moving forwards.

This role is different as it is not just limited to dealing solely with contentious probate fee earning as you will also be encouraged to undertake business development in order to market the department and leveraging off any of your contacts and also those of the firm to open up new revenue streams, so this opportunity really does allow you to make your mark on the firm and build upon its already considerable market share. You will be able to grow your own client base which will only serve to strengthen your development opportunities as you continue to add value to the practice.

Naturally a competitive salary and benefits package is on offer which includes 23 days' holiday entitlement as well as extra holidays over the Christmas period when the office closes. The firm also prides itself on its non-corporate environment and strives to promote a positive work/life balance which is something many of the larger national practices aren't able to do.

This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced contentious probate solicitor to join a modern and dynamic practice where you will have the freedom and autonomy to shape the Worcester offering as you see fit and will be able to take advantage of a fluid and non-rigid structure that perhaps larger national practices aren't able to offer.

Company

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
