Job Details

In House - Commercial Contracts

Outstanding role to join a national team of 30 in house lawyers at this professional services sector firm. They have a worldwide footprint and there will be the opportunity to work on projects and document work in the UK and internationally.

This commercial law role comprises managing, negotiating and reviewing the commercial and contractual arrangements with suppliers, key partner clients, facilities, IT outsourcing etc.

You will ideally come from an In House or Private Practice background, but these should be leading Legal 500 practices / equivalents and a solid academic background from a recognised university is a must. The work will be varied, interesting and challenging and the ability to work collaboratively on larger scale projects is essential.

The ability to draft, review and amend technical, lengthy and complex agreements so that they all "hang together" is expected, together with commercial awareness to be able to advise the business on opportunities they are missing out on, efficiencies that are being missed and on risk that they may be unaware that they are being exposed to under their current / proposed contract arrangements.

Any language skills beyond English would be a bonus - as would an interest in AI and how that might shape the future of commercial contracts review work.

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".
