Assistant Solicitor(s) – Employment Department, Manchester Ref: AS3/EMP/CB/MAN/SEPT18

We are seeking to appoint three Assistant Solicitors with c.5years PQE to our Employment Department in Manchester. Our Employment department has some of the country's leading employment and discrimination lawyers and undertakes some of the biggest, high profile, group action cases involving equal pay and the gig economy. Our ground breaking work is regularly featured on leading news channels. Over the years we have won numerous awards including The Lawyers Employment Team of the Year 2015 award, and have consistently ranked annually in the top tiers of both Chambers and Legal 500 client guides.

This position will ideally suit candidates with around 3-5 years’ PQE (although any PQE with relevant experience will be considered).  We are looking for individuals with experience in managing a high volume caseload and large amounts of information. This role will also involve delegating to and overseeing a team of junior non-qualified fee-earners. This is a busy and demanding role and a high standard of performance is expected, with the ability to deal sensitively with clients. The successful applicant must have outstanding IT, data management and organisational skills, research, problem solving skills and will be an effective communicator. Knowledge of employment law would be ideal but is not essential. Experience in acting on behalf of claimants will be an advantage.

This is a new role within a rapidly growing team and provides the perfect opportunity for a first class lawyer, with exceptional legal skills and experience to join a nationally renowned law firm of outstanding calibre, recognised for many ground-breaking cases. If you are a passionate, highly driven solicitor, committed to broadening your skills in multi-party litigation or employment group claims, this could be your perfect opportunity to join a vibrant team and play an active role in the growth story of undoubtedly one of the country’s most formidable claimant teams.

These are permanent, full-time positions based in Manchester.
