The client is a successful civil and commercial litigation firm based in Manchester offering a range of legal services to individuals and businesses. Due to continued growth they are seeking an experienced Industrial Disease Fee Earner/Solicitor to join their expanding Litigation Department on a permanent basis.

They are an extremely friendly and down-to-earth practice that combines good quality work with a fantastic working environment. They are immensely dedicated to achieving the best possible result that they can for their clients in respect of the full range of personal injury matters and engage in technical, tactical and robust litigation.

Ideally you must have at least 2 years + experience in Industrial Disease Litigation and be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of skills and desired competencies within a similar law practice. This opportunity offers excellent potential for career progression for the right candidate.

Working within the firms Industrial Disease team, handling a caseload of predominantly litigated, noise induced hearing loss claims (NIHL); you will be expected to:

* Have a strong background in Industrial Disease litigation whether it be Claimant or Defendant based

* Handle complex Industrial Disease claims to settlement or trial

* Have experience of running a caseload of litigated matters

* Possess knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules

* Possess strong knowledge of noise induced hearing loss claims

* Be a confident negotiator and communicator

* Be able to uphold excellent standard of client care

* Have experience of working in a target driven environment

* Undertake discussions and negotiations with Insured, Insurer and Third-Party Solicitors to pursue the rapid and appropriate settlement of cases and the apportionment of costs

* Undertake Court Telephone Hearings to ensure progress is maximised and all actions have been undertaken to bring the case to settlement

* Give timely and accurate maintenance of all case management, billing and management information systems to ensure completeness of records and aid business decision making

* Allocate funds to the appropriate client accounts as per agreed procedures to ensure the client and the firm receive appropriate payments

* Delegate tasks where available and appropriate to other members of the team

* Deal with correspondence and telephone calls

* Undertake periodic reviews of files in line with Client requirements

* Update reports

* Provide written updates by email or letter to clients detailing case activity to ensure that they receive up to date and accurate information about progress when requested; and

* Ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2011
