Job Title: Data Protection Manager
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary Range: GBP £50,000 - £60,000 (Per Annum)

Douglas Scott are currently partnered with a leading, international, academic publishing group who are looking to recruit an experienced Data Protection Manager to ensure the Group's compatibility with existing data protection, and GDPR, requirements. This role offers the real opportunity, for an experienced Data Protection Manager, to work closely with a dynamic In-house Legal team to build a business wide understanding of data protection issues and to ensure compliance with applicable regulations- primarily GDPR.

Our client is a leading international academic publisher who operates across both print and electronic platforms- providing one of the most diverse and reputable academic libraries'. Due to the international growth of the business, our client is looking to recruit a Data Protection Manager who fundamentally maintain their clients trust by fostering a compressive, internal, data protection culture.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Data Protection and will be able to laisse across the business with all levels of senior stakeholders- working closely with the In-house Legal team and reporting directly to the Group Data Protection Officer. An ability to maintain a privacy compliance programme and a CIPP-E or similar qualification is essential.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

* Roll out GDPR implementation across the business and be the point of contact for any DP queries (SARs, privacy reviews, DPIA's etc…)
* Develop a data protection culture within the organisation and help to implement essential elements of Data protection
* Run data protection workshops and training sessions across the business to employees of all levels
* Reviewing Privacy Impact Assessments and providing advice to the relevant business teams
* Reviewing any legal contracts and advising where necessary on data sharing arrangements and data processing agreements
* Regulatory horizon scanning, keeping abreast of Data Privacy Law changes around the world (i.e. EMEA, APAC, Africa and The Americas).

Knowledge in maintaining a privacy compliance programme, across National and European jurisdictions, with expertise in recent GDPR developments and a proven sense of leadership and managements are essential for this role.

A familiarity with privacy and security risk assessment and best practices, privacy certifications/seals, and information security standards certifications will be highly advantageous to an application.
