In-House Solicitor – flexible opportunity in city centre location

£40,000 to £50,000 pa

A unique opportunity not to be missed!

Tribal is an established international company listed on the LSE with operations across 4 continents and customers spread throughout the world.  We are one of the world’s leading providers of software and services to the global education market. Our environment is friendly and down to earth with a passion for excellent customer service.

We pride ourselves on being nimble, proactive and responsive to our internal and external customers and our people love the flexibility and autonomy that we offer.

We are seeking an in-house solicitor, with good quality experience in the Commercial field, to join our legal team.  You will report into the Group Legal Counsel and support them directly, specifically on the contracts side. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal counsel who is looking for an autonomous position with plenty of stakeholder contact and a desire to make a genuine impact on our success.

In addition to those looking for a full-time role, we are happy to consider suitably qualified candidates who are looking for a part-time role and we can accommodate a number of different working patterns. If you are interested in a part-time role, please include details of your preferred hours and working pattern in your cover letter.

Your new role

You will be joining an entrepreneurial company and will be comfortable making commercial decisions quickly and confidently. You will have strong technical skills, sound commercial contracts knowledge, drafting and negotiation skills and a demonstrable ability to handle conflict and provide legal advice in an appropriate and timely manner. This will be complemented by your understanding of the effects of key regulatory issues on contractual terms. An understanding of data protection would be desirable but is not essential.

What you'll need to succeed

Your experience should be of good quality, but there is flexibility on experience levels and we would encourage applications from candidates with typically 2 years’ PQE upwards. However, if you have less than 2 years’ PQE but have the skills and knowledge we are looking for, please do apply. We would expect you to have trained in either an in-house environment or a recognised commercial law firm.

You will be a natural and confident communicator with the ability to quickly build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will have a professional and outgoing approach and will be comfortable dealing with people at all levels of an organisation.

Experience in the intellectual property and/or information and communication technology industries and/or procurement platforms would be advantageous but not essential. Likewise, any Company Secretarial experience would be an advantage but is by no means essential.

What can Tribal offer me?

This is a great opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a world leading solutions and services provider to the education sector in the centre of Bristol. Our modern and friendly office has an on-site restaurant and is ideally situated within a 10-minute walk from the train station.

Although this role is primarily office-based, we offer our team the flexibility to also work from home when the need arises. We offer an attractive benefits package including pension, private medical insurance, life assurance, a health care cashplan and the option to buy or sell annual leave.
